Alison + Ryan

Alison and Ryan told me at our first meeting that their goal for their wedding was that they just wanted the wedding to be FUN! Every aspect of their wedding day radiated around having fun with their guests. They pursued this in untraditional ways: an alternative ceremony at our local 1920’s movie theater, The Byrd Theatre, followed by a reception in the midst of the art galleries at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.

I had a blast photographing these two and their sweet, welcoming wedding party. At their wedding I was about 37 weeks pregnant and everyone treated me with kindness, and I even got to bond with the women in the wedding party who were mothers. I had two photographers with me just in case anything happened and the day was made even more perfect with their help- Emmi Claire Photography and Juliet Bryant. Little did I know, I didn’t end up having my baby for another 5 weeks, but it was good to be prepared!

Enjoy some of my favorites from Alison and Ryan’s fun, fall wedding day.
