Intimate Wedding in Richmond, VA | Meg & Rue

Meg and Rue got married in the middle of Hurricane Matthew when it hit the east coast. Surrounded by of their closest friends and family, they got married in their empty apartment that they just signed the lease on. It was the most beautiful candlelit ceremony officiated by Rue’s sister as the rain fell outside. Afterwards, everyone ate donuts and they signed the marriage documents. We took some portraits in their new apartment (perfect way to christen the new home if you ask me), and then walked through the rain to our cars under umbrellas which ended up being one of my favorite pictures from the day. The reception was a private dinner party at Acacia and had a few more close friends. Meg and Rue thoughtfully planned to switch to a different table for each course of the menu so they could spend equal time with everyone. Soft candle lighting, laughter, good food, and conversation filled the rest of the night. It was the most beautiful, intimate wedding and I absolutely loved that I had a part in it.

P.S. Their wedding was featured over on the lovely Snippet and Ink blog.
